Irene

Irene Illusia has been tattooing actively since 2014. Over the years, her love for fine linework and dotwork grew, often subtle designs with an eye for detail.

In 2020 she founded her studio Golden Fern: a warm, homely place where people can feel welcome and safe. With space for calm, attention and genuine connection.
Due to ongoing nerve pain in her arm, Irene switched to handpoke: a calmer, quieter process without a machine. Many people experience it as less painful and it also heals faster. It does require a bit more patience, but feels earthy and connected to the essence of tattooing.

Irene’s style is refined and precise. She mainly works in black and grey tones, but also loves using earthy colours like terracotta. Her inspiration often comes from nature, symbolism, ornamentation and geometry.

She sees a tattoo as more than just an image: it may feel like a piece of jewellery for the body, something that moves with someone’s form, presence and story. Each design is created in dialogue, with attention to what fits best!

Veerle

Veerle Coppoolse is an artist who graduated in Illustration at the Willem de Kooning academy of the arts in Rotterdam. During her studies she interned at the design department of theme park the Efteling. Her drawings are realistic and slightly stylized, inspired by the refined organic shapes found in historical art movements like Art Nouveau. She loves to draw plants, animals and letters that seem to come straight out of old magical books. She loves making designs that flow with and come to live on the body. With attentive dedication she creates a beautiful unique tattoo for every customer.

Tovenaar

Robin Dekker (working under the alias Tovenaar) specializes in handpoked tattoos, a gentle, calm method of tattooing where each dot is placed by hand. For him, it’s more than just a technique; it’s a moment of presence and transformation, creating space for your story and what you wish to carry with you.

His designs are rooted in the magical, organic world we all have the privilege of moving through, nourished by fantasy, mythology and the images that flow outward from his inner world. Much of his work arises intuitively, but he also loves to collaborate with you on something personal.

Whether it’s a symbol, a feeling, or a story, together you’ll create a tattoo that truly resonates with you. Something you can wear with pride and meaning.

Nina

As a little girl, she would spend hours with paint, color, and creating things. Now, a few years later, she creates her own art and gets to tattoo it onto people.

Abstract and artistic — that’s how she prefers to describe her self-developed style. Playing with paint, nature, and special materials makes her designs personal and unique. Think brushstrokes, paint textures, and shapes inspired by nature.

Nina has been tattooing for about three years now and does so with a lot of love and dedication. From a young age, she already knew she wanted tattoos, but that it would one day become her job — she never dared to dream!

She finds inspiration in symbolism and natural shapes that hold deep or personal meaning for her and her clients — from imprints of plants, herbs, and flowers to dragons and artistic, abstract forms that emerge during painting when she lets her creativity flow freely.

Mauritz

Mauritz has been tattooing since 1994, though for him it still feels like he started just last summer, learning and improving every single day. His preferred styles? Black, blacker, and blackest! Often rich in detail and frequently enhanced with touches of realism and smooth shading.

What Mauritz loves most about working at Golden Fern is being surrounded by a bunch of wonderfully creative (and slightly nutty) people who make every day a joy, so much so that he sometimes forgets there’s actual work to be done. That said, he never rushes. Clients are encouraged to keep the rest of their day free, because for him it’s all about achieving the best possible result. And yes, that sometimes means testing a bit of patience.

But one thing is certain; Mauritz stands by a heartfelt promise: whether it’s a large piece or a small one, every tattoo receives his full dedication. It’s his honour to be entrusted with turning someone’s vision into a lasting part of their legacy.

Iris

From a young age, Iris Jasperse has been fascinated by all kinds of creative mediums, from drawing and painting to graphic design. About ten years ago, she discovered her great passion: tattooing. In the early years, she worked in various shops where she developed her skills thoroughly, learned many techniques, and gradually found her own unique style. Her work is strongly inspired by art nouveau, nature, and ornamental forms, resulting in elegant and timeless designs.

Iris strives to see each tattoo not only as a piece of art but also as an extension of the body. She places her designs as fluidly as possible, paying close attention to the shapes and movements of the skin, so that the tattoo truly enhances and complements the body.

For her, the connection with her clients is very important. She believes it is essential that they feel involved throughout the entire process, from the initial idea to the final execution. She takes her time to work closely with clients on a design that truly reflects what they want to carry with them, a personal and meaningful piece that lasts a lifetime!
