Client preparation

Are there any tips to prepare the best before an appointment?

Definitely! It is wise to have a good night’s sleep prior to the appointment. Getting a tattoo can require a lot of energy. It is advisable to eat well in advance and to bring some lunch and something to drink containing sugar. We can offer tea and coffee for you. You may also want to bring something sweet with you in case you feel light headed. This doesn’t happen quickly or often, but it is still useful to eat some sugar to keep your energy level up. Don’t worry if forgot to bring this, we have dextro energy (dextrose) tablets in the studio.

Also be mindful of what you are going to wear. Make sure that the area where you will be tattooed can be easily undressed. If you are going to be tattoed on your back, it is useful to bring a vest with a zipper, so that you can wear it the other way around so that the zipper opening is on the back. This is comfortable especially if you get cold quickly or you don’t like to be half naked in the shop. Don’t worry too much: since we are located on the first floor nobody can watch inside our studio. We can also provide a folding screen next to the tattoo chair to offer you extra privacy.

There are risks involved in getting tattooed. Therefore, make sure you are well rested and have eaten enough. Inform the tattoo artist of any medication or skin problems, allergies, epilepsy and hypersensitivity reactions. Also check at www.veiligtatoeerenenpiercen.nl if the studio where you want to get a tattoo has a permit. This permit indicates that the studio works in accordance with the hygiene guidelines of the National Center for Hygiene and Safety.
