Design

Do I get to see the design in advance?

No, you will be able to take your first look at the design the day of the appointment. We work in this way in order to have enough time to prepare everybody’s designs: we work every day, spending a lot of time both drawing the designs and tattooing. The design itself is usually ready the evening before the appointment, but sometimes we like to add a few adjustments the morning before the appointment after taking a fresh look into it. The moment you will be at the studio, you will be shown the design and we will explain you our creative choices. If you wish us to make some adjustments to the design on the spot before it gets tattooed, don’t worry, we will have enough time for that.

We understand that for some it’s difficult not seeing your design in advance. However, we assure you that the design will be entirely based on your wishes, so we expect it to be up to your expectations and we’re sure you will like it. Worst case scenario, you can always decide to not get the tattoo. In this case, since the preliminary work has already been done and there will be no time left to schedule another customer on that day, you will lose the down payment.

Can I have a design made if I don’t make an appointment to get tattooed?

No, unfortunately we only prepare designs for our tattoo customers.

I would like a very small tattoo with a lot of detail, is this possible?

Sometimes we get requests for tattoos that are a few centimeters in size but contain a lot of detail. Our recommendation is: the more details you want, the bigger the tatto ought to be. The reason is that ink always runs out a little over the years, or it can fade a bit. For example, in order not to lose details it is best to leave at least 2mm between the ink lines. Alternatively, it’s also possible to make the design a bit simpler. One way is to make the design more minimalistic, by using less details so we can scale down the tattoo.

On the internet you will sometimes find tattoos that appear to be very fine, thin and with light-toned lines. However, mostly they will eventually fade. You can’t see this when the tattoo if freshly done, and it will happen after it has healed over the years. Our artists can give you advice about this and together we can come up with a realistic tattoo idea that matches your expectations. The final look of a healed tattoo is what counts in the end!
